Call of Wisdom

God is calling all who will listen

Have you heard from God lately? No? When was the last time you called upon Him? God says in (Jeremiah 33:3) “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” Unlike the way we may treat family or friends; “I’m not calling him or her until they call me first!” WE DON’T TREAT GOD THIS WAY! We don’t wait for God, creator of heaven and earth to get in touch with us before we call on Him. Not if we expect to get the best results for our lives. We are to call upon Him for everything, to include Him in all; I said ALL, our decisions! From the very beginning we were not created for our pleasure but His. He does want us to be in constant communication with Him – including Him in everything we do.

God has called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus, before time began. In (Genesis 1:26) God said to the other two persons of the Holy Trinity (Christ Jesus and His Holy Spirit) “Let us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness…” So, we should understand we were intended to have a direct, perfect relationship with all three from the moment of our creation. Yes, and we know, we failed our Maker in the garden. Mercifully, He provided a way for our redemption though, so we could continue to communicate with Him.

God continues to call to us. Are you listening? Are you seeking Him? From His Word, I am repeating what Jethro, father-in-law to Moses,  said in (Exodus 18:19) “Listen now to my voice; I will give you counsel, and God will be with you.” What I am saying is don’t wait for Him (God) to call upon you…instead, call upon Him.

Always seek God first! (Isaiah 55:6) instructs, “Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near.” When you trust Christ, you trust the God of the entire universe. Speak to God; to Jesus; or the Holy Spirit; They are one and the same person, but speak. On this you can rely – no matter what lies ahead for you, God is sovereign and in control of your life. His wisdom will be your wisdom should you choose to call upon Him, and make Him the most important part of your life!

APPROVED

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). (2 Timothy 2:14-26) instructs those whom He knows are His ; and don’t we aspire to be recognized as such, to be approved by God? He tells us to avoid godless chatter (gossip), because we will become more and more ungodly. God warns that what we say can affect others, even destroying the faith of some. Heaven forbid we should say anything to do such damage!   Approved we flee the evil desires of youth we pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace. We don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments because we know they only produce quarrels. As God’s servants we mustn’t quarrel; instead we must be kind, able to teach, and be not resentful.   Approved we are to gently instruct those who oppose us, hoping God will grant them repentance and lead them to the knowledge of His truth. Over the past few years I have been inspired by the Holy Spirit to write what He has given me; many times I was awakened in the middle of the night to write them down. I hope you will take look at these brief messages which can be found in the "sidebar" of this blog under the heading of "BLOG ARCHIVE." There may be something in these that personally speaks to you. I pray there is. Thanks for reading my blog and may God richly bless you.

Walk Of Faith

I wonder, do you think we miss God’s purpose for our lives because we are waiting to learn more of what God has planned for us? Truth is; God isn’t required to lay it all out for us. All He must do if He has a plan for our lives is to show us how and then enable us to do it. It seems when we don’t know all the particulars, life is too perplexing. We think, “ but I need to know just what God wants me to do.” Abram (later known as Abraham) probably had thoughts just like this. God asked Abram to go somewhere he wasn’t familiar with and he most likely thought of asking God, Lord, must I go somewhere I don’t know, can’t I just stay here in Haran? However, God’s plan for Abram was far greater than anything Abram could ever imagine. Our personal feelings, vision, and human reasoning will always get in the way of our walk of faith . God teaches us to have faith in Him by placing us in positions where our feelings, vision, and common knowledge don’t work for us. Haven’t you ex...
