Tortured By Rash

While serving as a local hospital chaplain, a woman I knew from church asked if I would visit her brother who was in the hospital. He was suffering with a mysterious rash that covered his body from the top of his head to the bottoms of his feet. Even after several tests his doctors still could not determine the origin or cause of the man's medical problem. This man was tormented by the urge to constantly itch. He was miserable!

When I entered his room he was sitting on the side of his bed. It was easy to see he was deeply disturbed by his affliction. Telling him I was there because his sister had asked me to come, he told me; "yes," he needed prayer badly because this terrible rash was driving him crazy! Trusting the Lord that the man's condition was not highly contagious, and that I was on a mission for the Lord and therefore protected from any threat of catching the rash myself; I asked the man if I could lay my hand on top of his head and pray for him. He agreed to allow me. I then asked him if he believed in Jesus, and that Jesus was going to heal him. He strongly professed he did! A miraculous thing began to happen. As the man and I prayed, I opened my eyes once or twice to observe any body language or response from the man. I looked down at the man's forearms where thousands of little red whelps were and I was amazed to watch as the red rash was disappearing right before my eyes! As we ended our prayer, I asked the man to look at his legs, arms and hands as the rash was quickly disappearing all over his body as we watched! The man jumped from his bed and exclaimed; "He's healing me! Jesus, is healing me!' We were both shouting now, and the man asked me to go with him down the hall to the nurse's station; he wanted to show his nurse what had happened. When he showed her that his arms and legs and the bottom of his feet were now without the red rash she nearly dropped her clipboard and her jaw fell wide open!

Jesus performed a miracle for that man I believe just to show He can. Praise God!

Child’s Healing Miracle!

A young woman, knowing my wife and I prayed for others at our then place of business, asked if we would pray for her baby who had Spinal-Bifida and was very visibly handicapped. In addition to the baby’s arms and legs being twisted and deformed she also had crossed eyes. This was a very sad situation, yet the young mother was full of faith in God. She truly believed in a healing miracle for her precious little girl! We laid hands on the mother and her child, and anointed them both with oil. My wife and I then prayed both in tongues and in the natural, asking Jesus to lay His mighty hand of miraculous healing upon the two. We were moved with deep compassion and felt the presence of His Holy Spirit, and fully expected a miracle for this baby!

The mother and child left us and we didn’t see or hear from her for two to three weeks. And then, one day the two came into our store again; the mother seemed filled with joy and was eager to tell us how her baby had been healed by Jesus! I looked at the child but at first glance couldn’t see any change in the baby’s condition. Still, I congratulated the mom and expressed my happiness for the baby’s healing even though I couldn’t see it. The mother told us how Jesus had healed her little girl. She said, “I know my baby still has problems but, you see Jesus has healed her by allowing her to now receive all her medications and treatments without any negative reactions. She is so much improved since we prayed for her, and I thank God for her healing!” I then noticed the baby’s eyes were not crossed anymore and I said, “Her eyes are straightened.” The mother confirmed and said, “I know, isn’t it wonderful?”

God is so good, and His mercy is all around us. We just have to un-cross our own eyes and see how His healing is not always in the manner we expect. God, You are so wonderful!

Apostates Predicted

Sensual persons who cause divisions   I quote from the Book of Jude, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, who was addressing those who were called , sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ. In verses 16 through 19, Jude warned of apostates who would come around and make themselves known. He described them as grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts , to use Jude’s own words. He went on to describe them as those who would be mouthing swelling words, flattering to gain advantage . Jude continued saying, “But you beloved, remember the words which were spoken before the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: how they told you there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. Fast-forward now to today; to our present time, the year 2012. How is this book (Jude) of very few words; the little book which precedes the last book of the Bible; Revelation relevant to our (contemporary...

By His Authority

God has given His authority. God’s plan for authority has been given to His people: authority in the church (1 Peter 5:1-2) which says, “shepherd the flock of God which is among you;” authority in the home (Colossians 3:18-25,) “Wives submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord, as is fitting in the Lord;” authority in your workplace (Ephesians 6:5-9) “Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters…; and authority in civil government (Romans    13:1-7) “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God….” Authority as planned by God seems awkward and unfitting in today’s societies – not that His plan is inappropriate, certainly this is not true. It is more that people have deviated from God’s plan to what seems more suited to their personal lives for whatever reasons they justify. It is it any wonder we have dysfunctional families, government and na...

God never changes who He is

The popular cry of the people here in America today is for “change.” Yet in some parts of the world there are those who use all means, including terrorism to resist it. There are some people who are determined to leave ancient traditions, and often times, corruptible governments just as they are, and have been for hundreds of thousands of years. Many of these nations do not recognize God. God is always the same; today, tomorrow, and forever. He never changes; this knowledge about Him enables us to have total reliability in Him. His character is as follows: God is omnipotent . All power is His, and nothing is beyond His control. He enforces His perfect will. He is unstoppable by any force in heaven or on earth! God is omnipresent. He is everywhere imaginable and unimaginable all at the same time! No person or place is beyond His presence. Space and time are before Him always. He determines everything for all places and all persons. God is omniscient. All that is happening to all ...
