Confused By False Prophets

Paul, an apostle – sent not from men nor by man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father –
“I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel – which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!”

“Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ” (Galatians 1:6-10).

Matthew; the first book of the Gospels warns in (Chapter 7:1-5) “Watch out for false prophets.” Accurately, these are those who in our present time, like in the time of the apostle Matthew, preach a different gospel from the gospel of Christ. And, today, we have so many false prophets we can hardly distinguish one from another. Who is telling the truth? Whom do we trust? Rather than search for the truth, who is Jesus, many of us allow ourselves to be drawn in confusion, and go along with those who seem popular, or who preach a perverted gospel to a naïve populace. There is only one true gospel; that which Jesus preached. It is as relevant today as it was 2,000 years ago. It will never be inappropriate for this world or any people. The good leader for our nation will not be ashamed of the gospel. That person will be God’s chosen king not the people’s choice or else there will be serious consequences.

Will we serve the king the LORD has chosen for us, or like the Israelites will we refuse Him, and demand someone we prefer? Read (1 Samuel 8:1-22); this is the book and chapter where the Israelites denied God as their king and wanted Samuel to appoint them someone else…per God’s instruction, Samuel did, and, the rest in history!

Our Walk With God

“Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many. I guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hampered, when you run, you will not stumble” (Proverbs 4:10-12). Our lives are built upon our first step, and   then proceed step after step after step thereafter. As infants we learn to crawl, then stand and eventually to walk to the waiting hands of our proud fathers and mothers. Our walking skills can develop into running skills; some of us will go on to run races, some will even run long distance marathons, but it all begins first with our desire to walk. The Lord tells us to listen to what He says to us through His Holy Spirit and the years of our lives will be many; as we go through life, our steps will not be hampered; when we hurry through our impossible daily schedules and race through our lives, we will not stumble.   All successful runners have a professional trainer, our trainer is ...

Breaking The Silence

The house is quiet, the dogs are asleep, and my wife is gone for the morning running her errands. The lonely silence gives our home a feeling of emptiness that seems to cry for noise or activity of some kind. What do I do to fill this void? I could turn on the TV – not much on this time of day though. I know; I’ll put on a CD. How about a little "Stones.", ZZ Top or perhaps some Van Halen; all good driving music, but what makes us feel like we have to fill the silence of our homes with noise or some other distraction? Is it because we fear loneliness? We miss a tremendous opportunity to have an intimate relationship with God at times like I just mentioned if we choose earthly substitutes instead of a Spiritual involvement with our Creator. God created us to be involved with Him, to have a yearning for His awesome presence. No music, TV or hobby can truly fill the voids we feel when we are alone. Only He can satisfy our need. Yet, don’t we try to keep busy and fill the airwa...
