NO MORE ENVY


Adopting a Proper Perspective with God and Others

When I accepted Jesus as my Savior, He not only became my Redeemer, but my LORD. When we ask Him to forgive us, and save us from our sins, our lives become His. We are to adopt a life of total dependence and submission to His Will, trusting His plan for our lives. King David wrote in (Psalm 37:4, 5) “Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.”

All your possessions, circumstances, and the way you appear to others, all of these, God decides what is best. As you become envious of others, you lose your proper perspective toward those around you. Being envious of what others have or do places your desires above theirs.

The apostle Paul wrote in (Philippians 2:3) “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.” Not always an easy thing to do in today’s highly competitive world.

It is impossible to be envious and thankful at the same time, God wants us to be content with His eternal blessing, not with what this world tells us we should desire! When we submit to His perspective He enables us to be content whatever our circumstances. Envy is sin, when we struggle with envy God is ready to forgive us and help us to see His proper perspective.

God’s Family

He provides resources for the family “For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those whom call upon You” (Psalm 86:5). God’s plan for marriage and the family, in the Bible, is intended to be ideal, full of prosperity for every member. Would you say this describes your family? Maybe, maybe not, however, even if your family has missed His mark His Word deals with life realistically. Many of us experience some aspect of failure or serious disappointment with the way our family is living. Many families today are divided by divorce or living as single-parent family units. God alone can provide the needed resources and the loving care vital for the needs of these families who are dealing with life. If you are having trouble in your family turn to Jesus. Apostates Predicted

Sensual persons who cause divisions   I quote from the Book of Jude, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, who was addressing those who were called , sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ. In verses 16 through 19, Jude warned of apostates who would come around and make themselves known. He described them as grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts , to use Jude’s own words. He went on to describe them as those who would be mouthing swelling words, flattering to gain advantage .
