Life of God

Fulfillment of a divine promise

“Life” translated in the New Testament from Greek has four different meanings. One being “manner of life”; another meaning “human life”; another “behavior”; but the life Jesus brought is translated in Greek “zoe” which is; “eternal life,” and the “life of God.”

F. F. Bosworth in his book; Christ The Healer said; “Without a divine revelation I cannot tell a person the specific reason why his or her prayer for the fulfillment of a divine promise is delayed. I can, however, point you to a most wonderful truth. This is the most vital of all truths that God has revealed. It is the only cure for all our ailments. A delay in receiving healing for instance is, in one sense, good news. The good news is that we can have more of the “life of God.”

Jesus said in (John 10:10); “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” We can understand from this one Scripture that we have a right to an “abundance” of a new kind of life, “God’s own Life,” but of course only if we actually take possession of it.

Today, many churches major on “manner of life” and “behavior” rather than what we now understand as zoe, or “Life of God.” The apostle Paul prayed for Christians who were already filled with the Spirit so they could believe further, and for them to be filled with “all the fullness of God.” Sadly, there are many who only possess a small severed part of God’s fullness. They are not accepting the complete “full of faith” mandate God has required of us for our healing. We are to “believeth all things,” to be full of that kind of life.

To be full of the “Life of God” is to be full of divine love, e.g. the One who is love; God.

APPROVED

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). (2 Timothy 2:14-26) instructs those whom He knows are His ; and don’t we aspire to be recognized as such, to be approved by God? He tells us to avoid godless chatter (gossip), because we will become more and more ungodly. God warns that what we say can affect others, even destroying the faith of some. Heaven forbid we should say anything to do such damage!   Approved we flee the evil desires of youth we pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace. We don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments because we know they only produce quarrels. As God’s servants we mustn’t quarrel; instead we must be kind, able to teach, and be not resentful.   Approved we are to gently instruct those who oppose us, hoping God will grant them repentance and lead them to the knowledge of His truth. Over the past few years I have been inspired by the Holy Spirit to write what He has given me; many times I was awakened in the middle of the night to write them down. I hope you will take look at these brief messages which can be found in the "sidebar" of this blog under the heading of "BLOG ARCHIVE." There may be something in these that personally speaks to you. I pray there is. Thanks for reading my blog and may God richly bless you.

Walk Of Faith

I wonder, do you think we miss God’s purpose for our lives because we are waiting to learn more of what God has planned for us? Truth is; God isn’t required to lay it all out for us. All He must do if He has a plan for our lives is to show us how and then enable us to do it. It seems when we don’t know all the particulars, life is too perplexing. We think, “ but I need to know just what God wants me to do.” Abram (later known as Abraham) probably had thoughts just like this. God asked Abram to go somewhere he wasn’t familiar with and he most likely thought of asking God, Lord, must I go somewhere I don’t know, can’t I just stay here in Haran? However, God’s plan for Abram was far greater than anything Abram could ever imagine. Our personal feelings, vision, and human reasoning will always get in the way of our walk of faith . God teaches us to have faith in Him by placing us in positions where our feelings, vision, and common knowledge don’t work for us. Haven’t you ex...
