Circle of Friends

“He who earnestly seeks good finds favor” (Proverbs 11:27).

We strive to be a social people. We enjoy establishing close relationships with others. However, as the apostle Paul warned the Corinthian church; it is important for us to be aware of those whom we get close to. Paul pointed out in – spiritual truth – believers and unbelievers have very little in common with each other. At some point in our relationship with others there will come a place where their faith (or lack of) and ours becomes divergent. Be aware of when this happens. Even as we are to be mindful and caring about those who are worldly and even unbelieving, we should also be careful not to be influenced or tempted to abandon God as our number one priority. It is easy to become tangled with the ways of the world. As Christians, we are to influence the world but not become ensnared by it. We must not forget he who is in the world, and who the great deceiver is. Satan can use those whom we are most familiar with to lead us astray.

Walking in the Spirit, we sometimes need to seek new friends who are mature believers. They are able to offer us a friendship centered in Christ and help us to grow in our own belief.  The most important aspect of finding a new friend is that you both have a close relationship with God. So, examine your relationships. Are you growing or slowing? Ask God to show you whom He wants you to establish a relationship with. He will!

As you share your faith today with a friend, so may they share theirs with you.

“Make no friendship with an angry man, and with a furious man do not go, lest you learn his ways and set a snare for your soul” (Proverbs 22:24).

Walk Of Faith

I wonder, do you think we miss God’s purpose for our lives because we are waiting to learn more of what God has planned for us? Truth is; God isn’t required to lay it all out for us. All He must do if He has a plan for our lives is to show us how and then enable us to do it. It seems when we don’t know all the particulars, life is too perplexing. We think, “ but I need to know just what God wants me to do.” Abram (later known as Abraham) probably had thoughts just like this. God asked Abram to go somewhere he wasn’t familiar with and he most likely thought of asking God, Lord, must I go somewhere I don’t know, can’t I just stay here in Haran? However, God’s plan for Abram was far greater than anything Abram could ever imagine. Our personal feelings, vision, and human reasoning will always get in the way of our walk of faith . God teaches us to have faith in Him by placing us in positions where our feelings, vision, and common knowledge don’t work for us. Haven’t you ex...

In Heaven

We will experience a sense of perfect joy There will also be perfect peace and fulfillment because of the divine presence of God. Our worship of the Father will be without distraction. Forever and ever we will concentrate our worship only on Him; our loving, caring God who is, and was, and forever will be our Creator and Sustainer. Never will we experience exhaustion as we serve and interact with Him on a very personal level. “And His servants shall serve Him” (Revelation 22:3). In Revelation it is revealed we will govern with Christ and rule over all that is brought under His dominion. “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall rule forever and ever!” (Revelation 11:15). And it is written; “And they [his servants] shall reign forever and ever” (Revelation 22:5). Ours will be a perfect fellowship like that of the Father and the Son. “That they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they may also be ...
