Is It My Faith or Trust

These two words; faith and trust are similar yet they are also different. We will have levels of both as we depend on God for our healing. The dictionary defines faith as: unquestioning belief that does not require proof or evidence. It defines trust as; firm belief or confidence of or in the honesty, integrity, reliability, justice, etc. of another person or thing. As I have "faith," I believe something is or will be so. When I "trust" I have complete reliance in someone or something else. Therefore, I believe, we will exercise both when we desire healing. My emphasis in this message is offering reason for trusting in the Lord. The Bible provides our best reason for trusting God. So, the following Scriptures are provided here for your reading convenience. These are by no means all the Biblical references to "trust" but just a few I have chosen for this message. You will be greatly informed and encouraged when you research all other references.

“Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.” (Psalm 4:5)

“But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord, I say; ‘you are my God’.” (Psalm 31:14)

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5)

“Let your collection of idols deliver you, but the wind will carry them all away, a breath will take them, but he who puts his trust in Me shall possess the land, and shall inherit My holy mountain.” (Isaiah 57:13)

I, Melton,  have learned to trust the Lord for everything in my life. You can say, it takes a "leap of faith" to trust in Him, but I have "faith" in Him because, I know I can "trust" Him.

I believe, no, I know you can too! Because He loves you, and plans for all good to be yours, if only you will call upon Him in faith, trusting in His love and His will for your life. You are blessed this day!

APPROVED

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). (2 Timothy 2:14-26) instructs those whom He knows are His ; and don’t we aspire to be recognized as such, to be approved by God? He tells us to avoid godless chatter (gossip), because we will become more and more ungodly. God warns that what we say can affect others, even destroying the faith of some. Heaven forbid we should say anything to do such damage!   Approved we flee the evil desires of youth we pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace. We don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments because we know they only produce quarrels. As God’s servants we mustn’t quarrel; instead we must be kind, able to teach, and be not resentful.   Approved we are to gently instruct those who oppose us, hoping God will grant them repentance and lead them to the knowledge of His truth. Over the past few years I have been inspired by the Holy Spirit to write what He has given me; many times I was awakened in the middle of the night to write them down. I hope you will take look at these brief messages which can be found in the "sidebar" of this blog under the heading of "BLOG ARCHIVE." There may be something in these that personally speaks to you. I pray there is. Thanks for reading my blog and may God richly bless you.

Walk Of Faith

I wonder, do you think we miss God’s purpose for our lives because we are waiting to learn more of what God has planned for us? Truth is; God isn’t required to lay it all out for us. All He must do if He has a plan for our lives is to show us how and then enable us to do it. It seems when we don’t know all the particulars, life is too perplexing. We think, “ but I need to know just what God wants me to do.” Abram (later known as Abraham) probably had thoughts just like this. God asked Abram to go somewhere he wasn’t familiar with and he most likely thought of asking God, Lord, must I go somewhere I don’t know, can’t I just stay here in Haran? However, God’s plan for Abram was far greater than anything Abram could ever imagine. Our personal feelings, vision, and human reasoning will always get in the way of our walk of faith . God teaches us to have faith in Him by placing us in positions where our feelings, vision, and common knowledge don’t work for us. Haven’t you ex...
