Peace With God

“Behold the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear.” (Isaiah 59:1).

Adam separated himself and all of mankind from the peace of God by his original sin. By his one sinful act he destroyed the wonderful, daily fellowship he had with his Creator and ever since humanity has been trying to re-establish this relationship of peace with its Maker. We have been trying to blot out this curse from Adam’s sin against God. And, since we are separated from God we cannot automatically experience His healing peace. But, just as there is hopeless death in Adam, we can have salvation through Christ! (Read Romans 5: 12-18.)

Surely, our way of finding peace with God does not work! (Proverbs 14:12) says, “There is a way that seems right to man, but its end is the way of death.” We must admit that ever since Adam, we (humanity) have been trying to rise above our confusion, our sickness and our separation from our heavenly Father. God’s Word explains what we must do to regain our peace with Him. (Romans 5:1) explains “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

When we accept the sacrifice of death Christ made for us on the cross we not only have peace with God, we have the peace of God. We are healed of our original sin when we accept His Son Jesus Christ and receive Him into our hearts. We can then come to Him in prayer asking Him to forgive us of our sins – we can then also ask for our healing. God wants us to be healed! Christ died for our sins and for our healing. Jesus Christ is the way to our peace with God.

Our confidence now established, we read how the apostle Paul asked, “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” He then answers his own question, “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”

We have peace with God because we have Jesus! Amen.

APPROVED

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). (2 Timothy 2:14-26) instructs those whom He knows are His ; and don’t we aspire to be recognized as such, to be approved by God? He tells us to avoid godless chatter (gossip), because we will become more and more ungodly. God warns that what we say can affect others, even destroying the faith of some. Heaven forbid we should say anything to do such damage!   Approved we flee the evil desires of youth we pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace. We don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments because we know they only produce quarrels. As God’s servants we mustn’t quarrel; instead we must be kind, able to teach, and be not resentful.   Approved we are to gently instruct those who oppose us, hoping God will grant them repentance and lead them to the knowledge of His truth. Over the past few years I have been inspired by the Holy Spirit to write what He has given me; many times I was awakened in the middle of the night to write them down. I hope you will take look at these brief messages which can be found in the "sidebar" of this blog under the heading of "BLOG ARCHIVE." There may be something in these that personally speaks to you. Walk Of Faith

I wonder, do you think we miss God’s purpose for our lives because we are waiting to learn more of what God has planned for us? Truth is; God isn’t required to lay it all out for us. All He must do if He has a plan for our lives is to show us how and then enable us to do it. It seems when we don’t know all the particulars, life is too perplexing. We think, “ but I need to know just what God wants me to do.” Abram (later known as Abraham) probably had thoughts just like this. God asked Abram to go somewhere he wasn’t familiar with and he most likely thought of asking God, Lord, must I go somewhere I don’t know, can’t I just stay here in Haran? However, God’s plan for Abram was far greater than anything Abram could ever imagine. Our personal feelings, vision, and human reasoning will always get in the way of our walk of faith . God teaches us to have faith in Him by placing us in positions where our feelings, vision, and common knowledge don’t work for us. Haven’t you ex...
