Re-establishing Devotion

"Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:11).

Be healed from what’s past. You are now renewed through Jesus Christ.

As we think of all the ways in which God is blessing our lives each day, the healing He does in us, our spirit leads us to be very grateful for what God does do for us. We thankfully feel the urge to come closer to Him to commit more of ourselves to Him. We desire to become “instruments of righteousness” totally committing ourselves to Him in complete obedience. Our desires are sacrificed for His. And, as we commit ourselves, our opportunities to serve Him start to manifest all around us.

The important thing to remember is; as we are transformed by God’s power, it must be inwardly, so we are not affected by the world. God’s Word encourages us to constantly be filled with His Spirit. As we are our filling enables us to live according to His commands. We are also encouraged to discipline ourselves to:

  • Make prayer a daily routine. Read (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
  • Read His Word each day in a planned and devoted manner (Psalm 119:9, 11).
  • Be an example to others so they see your transformation in what you say and what you do (Ephesians 2:10; Romans 1:16).

Are you feeling the need for re-establishing yourself in devotion to God? Pray about this, and if what you feel is for a specific purpose, ask God to show you what that purpose is, and how He wants you to serve Him and obey Him. Speak to your pastor or another Christian about what you are feeling. Re-establishing devotion in God brings tremendous joy!

Walk Of Faith

I wonder, do you think we miss God’s purpose for our lives because we are waiting to learn more of what God has planned for us? Truth is; God isn’t required to lay it all out for us. All He must do if He has a plan for our lives is to show us how and then enable us to do it. It seems when we don’t know all the particulars, life is too perplexing. We think, “ but I need to know just what God wants me to do.” Abram (later known as Abraham) probably had thoughts just like this. God asked Abram to go somewhere he wasn’t familiar with and he most likely thought of asking God, Lord, must I go somewhere I don’t know, can’t I just stay here in Haran? However, God’s plan for Abram was far greater than anything Abram could ever imagine. Our personal feelings, vision, and human reasoning will always get in the way of our walk of faith . God teaches us to have faith in Him by placing us in positions where our feelings, vision, and common knowledge don’t work for us. Haven’t you ex...
Over the past few years I have been inspired by the Holy Spirit to write what He has given me; many times I was awakened in the middle of the night to write them down. I hope you will take look at these brief messages which can be found in the "sidebar" of this blog under the heading of "BLOG ARCHIVE." There may be something in these that personally speaks to you. I pray there is. Thanks for reading my blog and may God richly bless you.

In Heaven

We will experience a sense of perfect joy There will also be perfect peace and fulfillment because of the divine presence of God. Our worship of the Father will be without distraction. Forever and ever we will concentrate our worship only on Him; our loving, caring God who is, and was, and forever will be our Creator and Sustainer. Never will we experience exhaustion as we serve and interact with Him on a very personal level. “And His servants shall serve Him” (Revelation 22:3). In Revelation it is revealed we will govern with Christ and rule over all that is brought under His dominion. “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall rule forever and ever!” (Revelation 11:15). And it is written; “And they [his servants] shall reign forever and ever” (Revelation 22:5). Ours will be a perfect fellowship like that of the Father and the Son. “That they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they may also be ...
