To God be the Glory

“Beloved, do not think it be strange to the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s  sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy” (1 Peter 4:12, 13).

You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood; may this day you serve someone in the name of Jesus giving all glory to God.

The Bible tells us the world as we know it is drawing to a close (1 Peter 4:7). Today, many theologians present believable validation of the end-times and point to current events that appear to match Bible prophesy. Though Jesus declared no one will know the hour of His coming we are warned to be alert for His return.  In my spirit, I too believe we are near to these end-times. I say; “Come Jesus!” In (1 Peter 4:7) we are reminded of this and to be serious with our prayers and watchful in the coming days. In the meantime, we are to love one another fervently; because as the apostle Peter said, “love will cover a multitude of sins.” He went on to instruct us to be hospitable to each other and to be so without any grumbling. We should use the gifts God has given us to serve Him and one another so He is glorified.

Do you know what your spiritual gifts are? Read (1 Corinthians 12) and (Romans 12:4-8). I encourage you to use the gift given to you by God, using it as a good steward and with the manifold grace of God. Each and every one of us has at least one gift of God. We are to use our gifts to help each other and to do so to the glory of God.

Maybe your gift is ministering to the needy, or maybe you feel led to pray for others. There are many spiritual gifts and like I said, we all have at least one. Maybe your gift is praying for the healing of others with laying-on-hands and anointing them with oil. God uses ordinary men and women as He heals His people. He equips us with extraordinary faith and uses us as efficient conduits for His healing power. For sure, all healing is from God! Healing is as much apart of our salvation as the forgiveness of our sins is! Healing is still a part of God’s perfect plan for mankind until the coming of His Son Jesus. As believers, we will then be given perfect bodies without pain, without suffering and without any diseases. As believers, we are all heirs to the throne with Jesus. At the time of His coming our work on this earth will be finished. Hopefully, we will all exclaim; To God be the Glory!

“Do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31).

Walk Of Faith

I wonder, do you think we miss God’s purpose for our lives because we are waiting to learn more of what God has planned for us? Truth is; God isn’t required to lay it all out for us. All He must do if He has a plan for our lives is to show us how and then enable us to do it. It seems when we don’t know all the particulars, life is too perplexing. We think, “ but I need to know just what God wants me to do.” Abram (later known as Abraham) probably had thoughts just like this. God asked Abram to go somewhere he wasn’t familiar with and he most likely thought of asking God, Lord, must I go somewhere I don’t know, can’t I just stay here in Haran? However, God’s plan for Abram was far greater than anything Abram could ever imagine. Our personal feelings, vision, and human reasoning will always get in the way of our walk of faith . God teaches us to have faith in Him by placing us in positions where our feelings, vision, and common knowledge don’t work for us. Haven’t you ex...
Over the past few years I have been inspired by the Holy Spirit to write what He has given me; many times I was awakened in the middle of the night to write them down. I hope you will take look at these brief messages which can be found in the "sidebar" of this blog under the heading of "BLOG ARCHIVE." There may be something in these that personally speaks to you. I pray there is. Thanks for reading my blog and may God richly bless you.

Get Out Of Your Boat

In (Matthew 14:25) Jesus had told the disciples to get into the boat and go on ahead of Him to the other side of the lake. The Bible says; He went up on a mountainside by Himself to pray. The wind was strong that night and the waves buffeted the small boat, tossing it to and fro. It would have been a frightening time to be out on the water; especially that late at night. The men in the boat trembled with fear, and when they saw Jesus walking out to them on the water they thought He was a ghost. Jesus assured them it was He and they should not be afraid. Peter, one of the disciples, said, “Lord, if it’s You, tell me to come to You on the water!” Jesus told him, “Come.” Peter stepped out of the boat, walked toward Jesus, but when he saw the wind; the Bible says, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” Peter’s faith was strong, at first. He was walking on the top of the waves just as Jesus was, but the moment he allowed himself to think rationally instead of t...
