God’s Peace

As Christians we can know God’s peace as a daily reality.

Our lives become very complicated with our work, our relationships and perhaps even more so with our personal identity of who we are. What are we doing with our lives, we ask ourselves. One day we’re humming along and everything seem to be going great then the next day something comes along and causes us to fall away. We get depressed and then nothing seems to be going right in our lives anymore. We just want peace, some normalcy. Some consistency of good would be nice wouldn’t you agree?

Who wants to live life on a roller coaster? I know I don’t. Yet, as long as we try to be in control of our lives, disregarding God’s will, it’s the same as if each morning we get out of bed, purchase a ticket on Scream, The Ultimate Fear Machine and beg for the terrifying heights and those death-defying drops that take your breath away! We even throw our hands up in the air as if to say “Look, I’m not holding on to anything…I’m going to take whatever comes!” Well, guess what happens? We get the ride of our lives! We can vow to never do that again or maybe it will make us feel like we want to puke! I apologize for the graphic word here, but what I want to say is; life can make us sick when we leave God out of it. Literally, I mean this.

In (John 10:10) Jesus promised us an abundant life. He assured us that we can experience God’s peace, even in the middle of our difficult situations, when we trust God to take care of us no matter what happens to us. When we offer our anxieties to Him through prayer and simultaneously thank Him for allowing us to experience life according to His terms we discover God’s complete peace. “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and mind through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6, 7).

Today, seek God’s will for your life in prayer, trusting Him for everything. God’s peace is yours.

God never changes who He is

The popular cry of the people here in America today is for “change.” Yet in some parts of the world there are those who use all means, including terrorism to resist it. There are some people who are determined to leave ancient traditions, and often times, corruptible governments just as they are, and have been for hundreds of thousands of years. Many of these nations do not recognize God. God is always the same; today, tomorrow, and forever. He never changes; this knowledge about Him enables us to have total reliability in Him. His character is as follows: God is omnipotent . All power is His, and nothing is beyond His control. He enforces His perfect will. He is unstoppable by any force in heaven or on earth! God is omnipresent. He is everywhere imaginable and unimaginable all at the same time! No person or place is beyond His presence. Space and time are before Him always. He determines everything for all places and all persons. God is omniscient. All that is happening to all ...
Over the past few years I have been inspired by the Holy Spirit to write what He has given me; many times I was awakened in the middle of the night to write them down. I hope you will take look at these brief messages which can be found in the "sidebar" of this blog under the heading of "BLOG ARCHIVE." There may be something in these that personally speaks to you. I pray there is. Thanks for reading my blog and may God richly bless you.

God’s Family

He provides resources for the family “For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those whom call upon You” (Psalm 86:5). God’s plan for marriage and the family, in the Bible, is intended to be ideal, full of prosperity for every member. Would you say this describes your family? Maybe, maybe not, however, even if your family has missed His mark His Word deals with life realistically. Many of us experience some aspect of failure or serious disappointment with the way our family is living. Many families today are divided by divorce or living as single-parent family units. God alone can provide the needed resources and the loving care vital for the needs of these families who are dealing with life. If you are having trouble in your family turn to Jesus. He is your primary resource for forgiveness and your hope for renewal (Ephesians 1:7).   He forgives no matter if the failure is yours or it is one of those times when someone else fails yo...
