O Lord

God almighty, who is like You?

The title of this message, and the subhead, I have taken directly from (Psalm 89:8 NIV). I continue with this same verse, as it states; “You are mighty, O Lord, and Your faithfulness surrounds You.” Wow! What a beautiful Scripture this is! The psalmist, with all reverence, cries out to God recognizing just how awesome and powerful He is; and then proclaims there is not one who can compare to Him. Yet, with all His power and might, we understand God is surrounded by His faithfulness and mercy. Thank God, He alone is God. So, where are we? Well, we are in the palm of His big hand, which He opens constantly to observe how we are doing. As the Scripture says; His faithfulness surrounds Him so are we also surrounded with His faithfulness then. Our understanding of this reality should bring us great comfort, and it does!

Satan is defeated in our understanding of who God is, and by our unswerving faith in what His Word reveals to us. God’s Word is always relevant, and applicable to what we will ever experience in our lives. There is nothing in this world, nothing in our lives that God’s love and faithfulness can not mend. Do you worry? Are you frightened? Concerned? Are you feeling all alone? In Jesus’ name, I declare here and now, these disturbing mind states to leave you. You are a child of almighty God and He is your shield! You can believe in His love and His faithfulness to heal you.

Please listen to how (Psalm 91) encourages you and me: “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. / I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge, my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Nothing else need be said, God loves you and He will protect you. Selah.

Be of good faith, God loves you He will be with you in your trouble, He will deliver you. He has promised He will (Psalm 91:15.)

By His Authority

God has given His authority. God’s plan for authority has been given to His people: authority in the church (1 Peter 5:1-2) which says, “shepherd the flock of God which is among you;” authority in the home (Colossians 3:18-25,) “Wives submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord, as is fitting in the Lord;” authority in your workplace (Ephesians 6:5-9) “Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters…; and authority in civil government (Romans    13:1-7) “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God….” Authority as planned by God seems awkward and unfitting in today’s societies – not that His plan is inappropriate, certainly this is not true. It is more that people have deviated from God’s plan to what seems more suited to their personal lives for whatever reasons they justify. It is it any wonder we have dysfunctional families, government and na...

Apostates Predicted

Sensual persons who cause divisions   I quote from the Book of Jude, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, who was addressing those who were called , sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ. In verses 16 through 19, Jude warned of apostates who would come around and make themselves known. He described them as grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts , to use Jude’s own words. He went on to describe them as those who would be mouthing swelling words, flattering to gain advantage . Jude continued saying, “But you beloved, remember the words which were spoken before the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: how they told you there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. Fast-forward now to today; to our present time, the year 2012. How is this book (Jude) of very few words; the little book which precedes the last book of the Bible; Revelation relevant to our (contemporary...

Breaking The Silence

The house is quiet, the dogs are asleep, and my wife is gone for the morning running her errands. The lonely silence gives our home a feeling of emptiness that seems to cry for noise or activity of some kind. What do I do to fill this void? I could turn on the TV – not much on this time of day though. I know; I’ll put on a CD. How about a little "Stones.", ZZ Top or perhaps some Van Halen; all good driving music, but what makes us feel like we have to fill the silence of our homes with noise or some other distraction? Is it because we fear loneliness? We miss a tremendous opportunity to have an intimate relationship with God at times like I just mentioned if we choose earthly substitutes instead of a Spiritual involvement with our Creator. God created us to be involved with Him, to have a yearning for His awesome presence. No music, TV or hobby can truly fill the voids we feel when we are alone. Only He can satisfy our need. Yet, don’t we try to keep busy and fill the airwa...
