Stop Limiting God

There are many and various ways God provides for our wholeness. We never should limit Him to one specific way of healing us by praying for such. Would we want to pray for a particular healing method when God may have something more beneficial for us? No, I know this is not what we want. In (2 Kings 5: 1-14) Elisha told Naaman the Syrian to bath in the River Jordan, a Jewish river in order to be healed. Had this Syrian military commander argued out of foolish pride with Elisha and asked for some other method of healing he would not have been healed. And, in (1 Timothy 5:23); the apostle Paul told Timothy to; “No longer drink only water, but use a little wine for your stomach’s sake and your frequent infirmities.” Timothy’s stomach problems were alleviated by moderate drinking of wine, not by prayer. Jesus varied His healing ministry by healing people so they focused on Him, and not a particular method.

We should understand that the healing ministry is better described as a ministry of wholeness. And, God must be sovereign in our lives if we are to be whole with Him. We need to be fully cooperative with God in His manner of our healing. Our refusal to be so may be symptomatic of our problematic need for spiritual healing, as well as our physical healing.

Faith alone in the love and will of God can cause us to be healed. Let us pray His will, not ours!

My Prayer For You:

“Lord, You know our strengths and our weaknesses, You know our infirmities. We trust You now for our healing. For whatever we call to mind right now, in this prayer, I pray You hear our petition and cause us to be in wholeness with You Lord. In all faith, we do pray.” Amen.

APPROVED

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). (2 Timothy 2:14-26) instructs those whom He knows are His ; and don’t we aspire to be recognized as such, to be approved by God? He tells us to avoid godless chatter (gossip), because we will become more and more ungodly. God warns that what we say can affect others, even destroying the faith of some. Heaven forbid we should say anything to do such damage!   Approved we flee the evil desires of youth we pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace. We don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments because we know they only produce quarrels. As God’s servants we mustn’t quarrel; instead we must be kind, able to teach, and be not resentful.   Approved we are to gently instruct those who oppose us, hoping God will grant them repentance and lead them to the knowledge of His truth. Over the past few years I have been inspired by the Holy Spirit to write what He has given me; many times I was awakened in the middle of the night to write them down. I hope you will take look at these brief messages which can be found in the "sidebar" of this blog under the heading of "BLOG ARCHIVE." There may be something in these that personally speaks to you. I pray there is. Thanks for reading my blog and may God richly bless you.

Walk Of Faith

I wonder, do you think we miss God’s purpose for our lives because we are waiting to learn more of what God has planned for us? Truth is; God isn’t required to lay it all out for us. All He must do if He has a plan for our lives is to show us how and then enable us to do it. It seems when we don’t know all the particulars, life is too perplexing. We think, “ but I need to know just what God wants me to do.” Abram (later known as Abraham) probably had thoughts just like this. God asked Abram to go somewhere he wasn’t familiar with and he most likely thought of asking God, Lord, must I go somewhere I don’t know, can’t I just stay here in Haran? However, God’s plan for Abram was far greater than anything Abram could ever imagine. Our personal feelings, vision, and human reasoning will always get in the way of our walk of faith . God teaches us to have faith in Him by placing us in positions where our feelings, vision, and common knowledge don’t work for us. Haven’t you ex...
