Supreme Love


The essence of God’s nature is perfect love.

God demonstrated His love by sending His beloved Son, Jesus into this world. As Christ came to earth He brought a new meaning to the word love. Long ago, writers of the New Testament decided to use a Greek word for love, agape, that was seldom spoken or written to express what God had in mind in Christ. Jesus, was His perfect example of love and how He wanted Christians to relate to each other. Agape is describe as; a selfless, unconditional and self-sacrificing love for others. (1 John 3:16) “By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” As we are examples of Christ, our love for others says; I respect you, I care for you, I am responsible for you.

When Jesus came it was not only to demonstrate love by His sacrifice on the cross but, to continually pour His love over your life! It is not by your goodness or you trying to always do the correct thing that He loves you. No, God knew you and me long before we ever knew Him. He loved us first! Read (John 17:21;) “We love Him because He first loved us.” So, since God loves us, we are to love others.

There is no other love that is as strong, or that can endure forever like God’s love. In (Romans 8:35-39) the apostle Paul said there is nothing, not even death, that has the power to separate us from this love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Paul also stated to the Philippians in (Philippians 2:2-4) “Fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also the interests of others.”

God never changes who He is

The popular cry of the people here in America today is for “change.” Yet in some parts of the world there are those who use all means, including terrorism to resist it. There are some people who are determined to leave ancient traditions, and often times, corruptible governments just as they are, and have been for hundreds of thousands of years. Many of these nations do not recognize God. God is always the same; today, tomorrow, and forever. He never changes; this knowledge about Him enables us to have total reliability in Him. His character is as follows: God is omnipotent . All power is His, and nothing is beyond His control. He enforces His perfect will. He is unstoppable by any force in heaven or on earth! By His Authority

God has given His authority. God’s plan for authority has been given to His people: authority in the church (1 Peter 5:1-2) which says, “shepherd the flock of God which is among you;” authority in the home (Colossians 3:18-25,) “Wives submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord, as is fitting in the Lord;” authority in your workplace (Ephesians 6:5-9) “Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters…; and authority in civil government (Romans    13:1-7) “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God….” Authority as planned by God seems awkward and unfitting in today’s societies – not that His plan is inappropriate, certainly this is not true.
