We all have sinned; some of us harbor unconfessed sin though
which interferes with the way we think of, and commune with God. This is not
good since we will likely stop listening and praying to God when we try to hide
our sins from Him. We tend to avoid Him so we don’t have to deal with that
“secret” sin. Remember how Adam tried to hide his sin in the Garden of Eden? We
can, thanks to our wonderful, Lord Jesus, re-open our wonderful channels to God
through our confession and repentance. We don’t ever want to be separated from
Him. We can always trust God to forgive us of our sins because He said He would
when we ask Him to. Once we have confessed our sin to Him we will be forgiven
and we can again rely on His leading us in our loving, grateful service to Him.
By our confession we rededicate our lives to Him.
Is there some unconfessed sin in your life? What is separating you from God? This is your time for
re-dedication, take the time to pray and confess any hidden sin to God. (Psalm
32:1-4) Blessed is he whose transgression
is forgiven, / whose sin is covered. / Blessed be the man to whom the Lord does
not impute iniquity, / and in whose spirit there is no deceit. God has
promised to forgive us of all our sins. From time to time we may slip away from
God. Now is the time to commit your heart to obedience to God’s Word. Take the
time to share your recommitment with another Christian who will pray with you. Fellow
Christians are our great encouragers and God wants us to be joined together
with them.
The apostle Paul in his epistle to the Romans wrote; Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be
dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Therefore do not
let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts
(Romans 6:11, 12).
