The Perfect Gift

Our perfect gift is Jesus

Long before I ever had the opportunity to lead someone to Christ I wanted to. I wanted to share my Lord with others by telling them about Him and helping them find their own salvation in Him. However, there was some trepidation on my part because church never gave me any instructions, or told me I was allowed to lead others to Christ even though I knew as a Christian, it is a mandate of Christ that I do. [Matthew 28:18] speaks of this; His directive to all Christians. Jesus says, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

My assumption was; leading others to Christ was the preacher job. I wasn’t train to or suppose to help anyone else find Christ or pray the “prayer of salvation” with them. I was wrong. And, then one day, the Holy Spirit placed someone in front of me who was asking me about salvation, their salvation. I was then given my opportunity, and was convicted by the Spirit to lead this inquisitive, lost person to Christ. I had no idea what I was to do! At that moment, the Holy Spirit gave me this simple statement (prayer) to offer to the person I was ministering to:

“Jesus, my Lord and my Savior, I am weak and I have sinned against You. I am sorry! Please forgive me. Help me to come closer to You. I believe in You Jesus! I believe you died on the cross for my sins and that You were resurrected. I here and now accept You into my heart. Please show me how I can live the life You want me to live.”

That’s it! The Prayer of Salvation is not hard to remember or say. But, boy is it powerful! For us who are sinners from birth, but who come to know Jesus Christ and accept Him it is the difference between eternal life with Christ or eternal death! When we pray this prayer we have taken a giant step with God. Next we will want to get with a good Bible-teaching church where we can learn more about Jesus. God has many, many wonderful blessing in store for us as Christians. We need to spend time daily reading our Bibles so we can more about Christ and this “Perfect Gift” He has given us.

If this message helps you by giving you the confidence you need to witness to someone you love or even a total stranger, like it was with me, print out this page for future reference and put it in your Bible. I did for several years until I became for comfortable with my witnessing. God bless you, and may you too lead many to our Lord, our Savior Jesus.

APPROVED

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). (2 Timothy 2:14-26) instructs those whom He knows are His ; and don’t we aspire to be recognized as such, to be approved by God? He tells us to avoid godless chatter (gossip), because we will become more and more ungodly. God warns that what we say can affect others, even destroying the faith of some. Heaven forbid we should say anything to do such damage!   Approved we flee the evil desires of youth we pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace. We don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments because we know they only produce quarrels. As God’s servants we mustn’t quarrel; instead we must be kind, able to teach, and be not resentful.   Approved we are to gently instruct those who oppose us, hoping God will grant them repentance and lead them to the knowledge of His truth. God’s Family

He provides resources for the family “For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those whom call upon You” (Psalm 86:5). God’s plan for marriage and the family, in the Bible, is intended to be ideal, full of prosperity for every member. Would you say this describes your family? Maybe, maybe not, however, even if your family has missed His mark His Word deals with life realistically. Many of us experience some aspect of failure or serious disappointment with the way our family is living. Many families today are divided by divorce or living as single-parent family units. God alone can provide the needed resources and the loving care vital for the needs of these families who are dealing with life. If you are having trouble in your family turn to Jesus. He is your primary resource for forgiveness and your hope for renewal (Ephesians 1:7).   He forgives no matter if the failure is yours or it is one of those times when someone else fails yo...
