Rejected

Jesus was rejected in Nazareth

So many people rejected our Lord, in that time when He walked this earth in the flesh. Even in His own hometown they rejected Him! In (Luke 4:14) the Bible says that Jesus had returned to Galilee and the power of the Spirit was upon Him the news of Him had spread throughout the land. Everyone was praising Him. When He went into Nazareth, where He had been brought up, He went into the local synagogue on the Sabbath Day, as was the custom. When He stood up He was to read from the scroll of the prophet Isaiah, which had been handed to Him. He read where it was written; “The spirit of the Lord is on Me,…to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” After He had read this He rolled up the scroll and handed back to the attendant and sat down. Everyone was watching Him and He said, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”

When Jesus spoke to the group there in the synagogue and stated that in Elijah’s and Elisha’s times they did not heal or cleanse the sick and diseased, the crowd became irate. They rejected Him, becoming an angry, unruly mob, and they took Jesus to the edge of town, to the brow of the hill intending to throw Him off the cliff. Well, not so amazingly, what did Jesus do? He simply walked back through the jeering mob, that was now suddenly dumb-founded and confused somehow, and Jesus just went on His way! Awesome! Wouldn’t you have loved to have been there to say to the crowd; “You stupid bunch of idiots! Can’t you see this simple, humble man is the Son of God?”

And now, here we are today, and many people are still rejecting Him? They refuse to believe He still heals, and the light of their faith in Him seems to be flickering.

Can’t they see He is the Son of God?

Walk Of Faith

I wonder, do you think we miss God’s purpose for our lives because we are waiting to learn more of what God has planned for us? Truth is; God isn’t required to lay it all out for us. All He must do if He has a plan for our lives is to show us how and then enable us to do it. It seems when we don’t know all the particulars, life is too perplexing. We think, “ but I need to know just what God wants me to do.” Abram (later known as Abraham) probably had thoughts just like this. God asked Abram to go somewhere he wasn’t familiar with and he most likely thought of asking God, Lord, must I go somewhere I don’t know, can’t I just stay here in Haran? However, God’s plan for Abram was far greater than anything Abram could ever imagine. Our personal feelings, vision, and human reasoning will always get in the way of our walk of faith . God teaches us to have faith in Him by placing us in positions where our feelings, vision, and common knowledge don’t work for us. Haven’t you ex...
Over the past few years I have been inspired by the Holy Spirit to write what He has given me; many times I was awakened in the middle of the night to write them down. I hope you will take look at these brief messages which can be found in the "sidebar" of this blog under the heading of "BLOG ARCHIVE." There may be something in these that personally speaks to you. I pray there is. Thanks for reading my blog and may God richly bless you.

In Heaven

We will experience a sense of perfect joy There will also be perfect peace and fulfillment because of the divine presence of God. Our worship of the Father will be without distraction. Forever and ever we will concentrate our worship only on Him; our loving, caring God who is, and was, and forever will be our Creator and Sustainer. Never will we experience exhaustion as we serve and interact with Him on a very personal level. “And His servants shall serve Him” (Revelation 22:3). In Revelation it is revealed we will govern with Christ and rule over all that is brought under His dominion. “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall rule forever and ever!” (Revelation 11:15). And it is written; “And they [his servants] shall reign forever and ever” (Revelation 22:5). Ours will be a perfect fellowship like that of the Father and the Son. “That they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they may also be ...
