Good Angels

Created by God as His “messengers”

The term angel refers to beings God created, and there are over 300 references to them in the Bible. There are “good” angels – God’s messengers – and “fallen” angels. The “fallen” kind, serve Satan and are at actively at work in the world. Ghosts, goblins, zombies and monsters are references to the work of Satan, and as Christians we should not idolize these dark creatures for any reason. Encouraging our children to “trick or treat” is a practice of Satan’s world and serves only his evil purpose. Considering a day or an evening dedicated to this evil force harmless or much less fun, in my opinion, is giving Satan recognition he does not deserve.

I know, many will say this is being fanatical or too religious. However, I do not see any “good” reason for celebrating acts of devil-worship, references to murder, torture, decaying corpses or ghost houses as anything we should honor even for one day a year! Enough said.

Angels are mentioned throughout the Holy Bible and are referred to as God’s messengers protecting God’s chosen people. They bring messages from God. They did to Jacob (Genesis 32:1): Daniel (Daniel 6:22): Moses and the children of Israel (Numbers 20:16): Zacharias, Mary, Joseph, and the shepherds (Matthew 1; Luke 1: 2); and Philip (Acts 8:26), to mention but a few of their appearances. It was angels that rolled back the stone on Christ’s empty tomb.

Angels glorify God! This is worth celebrating and is a good teaching for our children. It will be angels who will accompany Christ when He returns to earth to set up His kingdom. (Matthew 25:31) says, “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.”

Happy “Glorious” Day! Think Jesus this October 31st.

APPROVED

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). (2 Timothy 2:14-26) instructs those whom He knows are His ; and don’t we aspire to be recognized as such, to be approved by God? He tells us to avoid godless chatter (gossip), because we will become more and more ungodly. God warns that what we say can affect others, even destroying the faith of some. Heaven forbid we should say anything to do such damage!   Approved we flee the evil desires of youth we pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace. We don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments because we know they only produce quarrels. As God’s servants we mustn’t quarrel; instead we must be kind, able to teach, and be not resentful.   Approved we are to gently instruct those who oppose us, hoping God will grant them repentance and lead them to the knowledge of His truth. Over the past few years I have been inspired by the Holy Spirit to write what He has given me; many times I was awakened in the middle of the night to write them down. I hope you will take look at these brief messages which can be found in the "sidebar" of this blog under the heading of "BLOG ARCHIVE." There may be something in these that personally speaks to you. I pray there is. Thanks for reading my blog and may God richly bless you.

Walk Of Faith

I wonder, do you think we miss God’s purpose for our lives because we are waiting to learn more of what God has planned for us? Truth is; God isn’t required to lay it all out for us. All He must do if He has a plan for our lives is to show us how and then enable us to do it. It seems when we don’t know all the particulars, life is too perplexing. We think, “ but I need to know just what God wants me to do.” Abram (later known as Abraham) probably had thoughts just like this. God asked Abram to go somewhere he wasn’t familiar with and he most likely thought of asking God, Lord, must I go somewhere I don’t know, can’t I just stay here in Haran? However, God’s plan for Abram was far greater than anything Abram could ever imagine. Our personal feelings, vision, and human reasoning will always get in the way of our walk of faith . God teaches us to have faith in Him by placing us in positions where our feelings, vision, and common knowledge don’t work for us. Haven’t you ex...
