Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is a person

Equal to God the Father and Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Holy Spirit is a person and completes the third part of the Holy Trinity. He has all the same attributes of God and that of deity. The Holy Spirit is eternal, having neither beginning nor end. He is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient meaning He is all powerful, everywhere at the same time, and all-knowing.

Jesus stressed to His disciples the importance of the Holy Spirit and taught them Himself how important the Holy Spirit was to a Christian believer.

Here are some of qualities the Holy Spirit possesses: He has intellect, emotions, and will. He also speaks (Acts 13:2), intercedes (Romans 8:26), testifies (John 15:26), guides (John 16:13), commands (Acts 16:6, 7), appoints (Acts 20:28), leads (Romans 8:14), and reproves and convicts of sin (John 16:8). He can be lied to and tested (Acts 5:3, 4 and 9), resisted (Acts 7:51), grieved (Ephesians 4:30), and blasphemed (Matthew 12:31).

Shamefully, many today minimize the personage and importance of the Holy Spirit and only whisper in close circles His glorious name. He is also known as; the Holy Ghost who’s other name is many times avoided by some for reasons of maybe sounding too spiritual? I ask; why should we not want to sound, or appear to be too spiritual? Whose opinion of us matters most, mans’ or God’s? No contest here!

Jesus, before ascending to heaven, spoke to those who had gathered before Him telling them the Promise of the Father, (Holy Spirit) would soon come upon them. He told them as He had been baptized with water by John, they would soon be baptized with the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:5). True believers in Christ are therefore filled with the Holy Spirit, as promised, and He (the Spirit) teaches us how and what to pray, as well as equipping us for service with Christ. We are blessed to proclaim we have the Holy Spirit within us.

”Lord, we thank You for Your Holy Spirit, and we now ask that you allow Him to enrich our lives.”

APPROVED

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). (2 Timothy 2:14-26) instructs those whom He knows are His ; and don’t we aspire to be recognized as such, to be approved by God? He tells us to avoid godless chatter (gossip), because we will become more and more ungodly. God warns that what we say can affect others, even destroying the faith of some. Heaven forbid we should say anything to do such damage!   Approved we flee the evil desires of youth we pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace. We don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments because we know they only produce quarrels. As God’s servants we mustn’t quarrel; instead we must be kind, able to teach, and be not resentful.   Approved we are to gently instruct those who oppose us, hoping God will grant them repentance and lead them to the knowledge of His truth. God’s Family

He provides resources for the family “For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those whom call upon You” (Psalm 86:5). God’s plan for marriage and the family, in the Bible, is intended to be ideal, full of prosperity for every member. Would you say this describes your family? Maybe, maybe not, however, even if your family has missed His mark His Word deals with life realistically. Many of us experience some aspect of failure or serious disappointment with the way our family is living. Many families today are divided by divorce or living as single-parent family units. God alone can provide the needed resources and the loving care vital for the needs of these families who are dealing with life. If you are having trouble in your family turn to Jesus. He is your primary resource for forgiveness and your hope for renewal (Ephesians 1:7).   He forgives no matter if the failure is yours or it is one of those times when someone else fails yo...
