Calling things that are not
as though they were
We all have situations in our
lives that we would like to see change. Maybe it’s unwanted debt, a lack of
enough monthly income, a better relationship with someone, a desire to be
healthier, or just feel better about our selves. It can be anything that keeps
us from having the kind of joyful and fulfilling life God intends for us. We
don’t have to be satisfied with our lack of these things.
You have power over your
life! You can have what you say. Most of the time we are defeated in our lives
because, we believe and confess the wrong things. Our negative words hold us back
in bondage as the enemy wants us to feel deprived of God’s provisions. He wants
us to accept defeat. Jesus said in (Matthew 17:20), “…if you have faith as small as a mustard seed,
you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move.
Nothing will be impossible for you.”
In (Mark 11:22, 23), He said,
“Have faith in
God…I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself
into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says
will happen, it will be done for him.”
As I read these Scriptures, I
see Jesus helping us understand that what we say, and believe affects our world
around us, be it our health, our relationships, or our finances. Our world is
governed by physical laws, and spiritual laws; and they are all God’s laws. God
has given us His Word so we can understand His laws which cause our world to go
round and round. When we work with His laws, we are in harmony and they work
for us. When we don’t, well, they don’t.
Choose life not death, riches
not poverty, wellness not sickness. Speak positive words over your life, not
the other kind! It is the truth! In (Galatians 3:14) we learn, “He redeemed us in order that the blessing
given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by
faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.”
It’s time for a change! Confess what God says about you. “You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people
belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of
darkness into his wonderful light” (1 Peter 2:9).
