Why Mankind?

Created for God’s fellowship

God created us for His benefit not ours. He wanted to love us and fellowship with us. We are privileged to glorify and serve Him. Somehow throughout time, we (mankind) came to believe we are here in God’s creation so we can do what pleases us, get what we want and live like kings. We are destructively deceived in our assumption. When Adam and Eve disobeyed God, man’s relationship with the Creator changed big time! Our very nature took on the reality of corruption so that we are born inclined away from the will of God. Where does this put us in our relationship with our perfect, Holy, heavenly Father? Separated! We are no longer connected to Him as He designed us. But by His grace He has allowed us an escape plan from what would otherwise be our inevitable dead-end – the sacrifice of His Son Jesus, our blessed opportunity for redemption.

Many may think being involved in good works for the Lord earns them favor with God or forgiveness for the way they have lived in the past. It doesn’t. It is a lie of Satan that any of us by any stretch of our imagination can substitute good works for the grace of Jesus Christ. In (Isaiah 64:6 NIV) God’s prophet revealed whatever “goodness” we have and whatever works we perform, they amount to nothing more than filthy rags, in terms of earning our salvation. We are only saved from eternal death and damnation by our redemption and our bending back toward our Father God.

Being a Christian is not about “works,” attending church, being a good person or trying to set a good example before others; although Christians do honor God by doing these. A Christian is one who has honestly asked God for His forgiveness, believed in His Son Jesus, acknowledged that His Son died on the cross for our sins, that He rose again, and who has asked Jesus to come into their hearts to lead them in the ways of the Father.

This forms the foundation of what we, as Christians, believe.

APPROVED

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). (2 Timothy 2:14-26) instructs those whom He knows are His ; and don’t we aspire to be recognized as such, to be approved by God? He tells us to avoid godless chatter (gossip), because we will become more and more ungodly. God warns that what we say can affect others, even destroying the faith of some. Heaven forbid we should say anything to do such damage!   Approved we flee the evil desires of youth we pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace. We don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments because we know they only produce quarrels. As God’s servants we mustn’t quarrel; instead we must be kind, able to teach, and be not resentful.   Approved we are to gently instruct those who oppose us, hoping God will grant them repentance and lead them to the knowledge of His truth. Over the past few years I have been inspired by the Holy Spirit to write what He has given me; many times I was awakened in the middle of the night to write them down. I hope you will take look at these brief messages which can be found in the "sidebar" of this blog under the heading of "BLOG ARCHIVE." There may be something in these that personally speaks to you. I pray there is. Thanks for reading my blog and may God richly bless you.

Walk Of Faith

I wonder, do you think we miss God’s purpose for our lives because we are waiting to learn more of what God has planned for us? Truth is; God isn’t required to lay it all out for us. All He must do if He has a plan for our lives is to show us how and then enable us to do it. It seems when we don’t know all the particulars, life is too perplexing. We think, “ but I need to know just what God wants me to do.” Abram (later known as Abraham) probably had thoughts just like this. God asked Abram to go somewhere he wasn’t familiar with and he most likely thought of asking God, Lord, must I go somewhere I don’t know, can’t I just stay here in Haran? However, God’s plan for Abram was far greater than anything Abram could ever imagine. Our personal feelings, vision, and human reasoning will always get in the way of our walk of faith . God teaches us to have faith in Him by placing us in positions where our feelings, vision, and common knowledge don’t work for us. Haven’t you ex...
