Word For Today: HOPE (1 Peter 1:3,4)

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a loving hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade" (1 Peter 1:3,4 NIV).

This is a wonderful Scripture; one that assures us of the incredible hope we have in Jesus. Certainly, I believe you will enjoy even more of this Scripture by reading from (v.3-13.) When I read this Scripture it awakens me spiritually to better understand even more of the mystery of our faith. Peter, the apostle, was given this message of hope not only for the people of Galatia and Cappadocia in his time, but for us all by God's Holy Spirit. It was and is without any doubt, God's powerful voice of love speaking to you and me through Peter. This Scripture describes what I think the old hymn; "Blessed Assurance" was helping us sing about.

Without Jesus we would have no hope at all. We would live out our short lives constantly bothered by our daily pains and aggravations, our fear of dying, and the unavoidable, fatal attacks of Satan himself. How do I know this? Just watch the news -- see those pitiful souls who are denying Christ, and who have already started living out their own personal hell here on earth. Out of desperation, greed, and lust many have denied this better gift of Jesus Christ.

I thank God for you, for the hope you share with me by trusting our Lord Jesus. Please consider this Scripture; (1 Peter 1:22 NIV) "Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from the heart. For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God."

Walk Of Faith

I wonder, do you think we miss God’s purpose for our lives because we are waiting to learn more of what God has planned for us? Truth is; God isn’t required to lay it all out for us. All He must do if He has a plan for our lives is to show us how and then enable us to do it. It seems when we don’t know all the particulars, life is too perplexing. We think, “ but I need to know just what God wants me to do.” Abram (later known as Abraham) probably had thoughts just like this. God asked Abram to go somewhere he wasn’t familiar with and he most likely thought of asking God, Lord, must I go somewhere I don’t know, can’t I just stay here in Haran? However, God’s plan for Abram was far greater than anything Abram could ever imagine. Our personal feelings, vision, and human reasoning will always get in the way of our walk of faith . God teaches us to have faith in Him by placing us in positions where our feelings, vision, and common knowledge don’t work for us. Haven’t you ex...
Over the past few years I have been inspired by the Holy Spirit to write what He has given me; many times I was awakened in the middle of the night to write them down. I hope you will take look at these brief messages which can be found in the "sidebar" of this blog under the heading of "BLOG ARCHIVE." There may be something in these that personally speaks to you. I pray there is. Thanks for reading my blog and may God richly bless you.

In Heaven

We will experience a sense of perfect joy There will also be perfect peace and fulfillment because of the divine presence of God. Our worship of the Father will be without distraction. Forever and ever we will concentrate our worship only on Him; our loving, caring God who is, and was, and forever will be our Creator and Sustainer. Never will we experience exhaustion as we serve and interact with Him on a very personal level. “And His servants shall serve Him” (Revelation 22:3). In Revelation it is revealed we will govern with Christ and rule over all that is brought under His dominion. “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall rule forever and ever!” (Revelation 11:15). And it is written; “And they [his servants] shall reign forever and ever” (Revelation 22:5). Ours will be a perfect fellowship like that of the Father and the Son. “That they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they may also be ...
