Thanks To God


God expects us to be thankful for everything. In fact, He commands us to be grateful in all things even though we may not understand why -- He is God, His ways are not our ways. As Christians, Scriptural principals like this are what ultimately help us establish our trust in God.

In (Ephesians 5:15-20) we read, “Be very careful, then, how you live – not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.”

Our gratitude to God is not founded on our emotions or the outcome of our situation, but rather our full knowledge that God is working it all out for our good (Romans 8:28.) In the good times and bad He has a reason for everything we experience. Since we know this, we know we can trust God to go to Him for the little things and the big stuff. He works it all to our benefit! Giving thanks to God in all things will help us develop a better attitude toward God, ourselves and what we will go through in this life.

How you react to difficulties with thankfulness will cause others to take notice. They will want that same sense of security and fruitful reliance you have as you example your dependence on God. Seeing you trust Him will cause others to want what you have.

Today, give thanks to God for all this day brings you – be a witness to Christ before your coworkers, friends and family – praise God for all things!

In Heaven

We will experience a sense of perfect joy There will also be perfect peace and fulfillment because of the divine presence of God. Our worship of the Father will be without distraction. Forever and ever we will concentrate our worship only on Him; our loving, caring God who is, and was, and forever will be our Creator and Sustainer. Never will we experience exhaustion as we serve and interact with Him on a very personal level. “And His servants shall serve Him” (Revelation 22:3). In Revelation it is revealed we will govern with Christ and rule over all that is brought under His dominion. “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall rule forever and ever!” (Revelation 11:15).
