Contend For Your Faith

“Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power” (Jude verses: 24, 25).
.

“Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt I had to write and urge you to contend for the faith that once was for all entrusted to the saints. For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord” (Jude: 3, 4.)

The paragraph above I quoted directly from The Epistle of Jude (NIV). I chose to use it verbatim as I believe it speaks to us even as a present day warning. Our nation and the world today certainly have many men and women who have slipped into our society bent on changing the grace of our God; attempting to redefine what is acceptable and, in their minds, right (okay) concerning morality for us and the rest of humanity. They should know God’s laws never change! What He commanded as His laws will always remain legally, morally, ethically and judicially true. Those who are of the opinion it’s politically correct or acceptable to tolerate any relaxing or denying of God’s laws are dead wrong! They may even say there is no God, and deny Jesus Christ, but He still is and will always remain God! His laws remain binding for all mankind! The laws of His creation do not change just because modern man feels need for tolerance or acceptance according to new age thinking or for what is considered most fair for this time. Sin remains undeniably eternal death!

God Still Heals! He heals the wounds of our sins as we ask Him to forgive us. Are you carrying a burden of any sin? He is waiting to remove it as far as the east is from the west all you must do is ask with all your heart for His forgiveness! I believe I am speaking to someone who has never asked Jesus for His forgiveness for a past sin. If this is you don’t wait any longer; ask Jesus now to forgive you. Don’t let another day go by carrying any burden of sin. You know this Savior Jesus. You know how wonderful He is to forgive. He is calling to you now to take that burden away from you.

I pray: Thank you Jesus! Thank you Holy Spirit for speaking to us now and in this way! Forgive us Lord. We are sorry for our sin! In You we are forgiven, and you have blessed us! Amen.

APPROVED

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). (2 Timothy 2:14-26) instructs those whom He knows are His ; and don’t we aspire to be recognized as such, to be approved by God? He tells us to avoid godless chatter (gossip), because we will become more and more ungodly. God warns that what we say can affect others, even destroying the faith of some. Heaven forbid we should say anything to do such damage!   Approved we flee the evil desires of youth we pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace. We don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments because we know they only produce quarrels. As God’s servants we mustn’t quarrel; instead we must be kind, able to teach, and be not resentful.   Approved we are to gently instruct those who oppose us, hoping God will grant them repentance and lead them to the knowledge of His truth. God’s Family

He provides resources for the family “For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those whom call upon You” (Psalm 86:5). God’s plan for marriage and the family, in the Bible, is intended to be ideal, full of prosperity for every member. Would you say this describes your family? Maybe, maybe not, however, even if your family has missed His mark His Word deals with life realistically. Many of us experience some aspect of failure or serious disappointment with the way our family is living. Many families today are divided by divorce or living as single-parent family units. God alone can provide the needed resources and the loving care vital for the needs of these families who are dealing with life. If you are having trouble in your family turn to Jesus. He is your primary resource for forgiveness and your hope for renewal (Ephesians 1:7).   He forgives no matter if the failure is yours or it is one of those times when someone else fails yo...
