God: Our Healer

He made us – He is our healer

When we meet His conditions and obey His instructions, he keeps us healthy. We can see how this was demonstrated by God when He told Moses to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt, and out of their cruel bondage.

For a while, (three days) the Israelites rejoiced, and celebrated their new freedom. Moses’ own sister, Miriam, the prophetess, led the festivities (Exodus 15:20, 21). But then, when fresh drinking water began to be scarce and there was rationing, everyone started to grumble and complain (v.22-24). Well, now wasn’t that a crying shame! How soon they forgot God’s mercy! Here He had saved them from countless years of slavery and abuse, they were now free… but, there’s no good-tasting water for them to drink. Excuse me! Moses cried out to God for the people, and God showed Moses a tree, and Moses threw the tree into the bitter waters of Marah, and the water was made sweet to drink.

During this difficult time, God spoke to His people through Moses. It was then He revealed another name for Himself. God determined this would be a name they would always remember. A name to always encourage them:

…There he proved them, and said, “if thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord, thy God, and wilt do that which is right in His sight, and wilt give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statues, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee” [Jehovah-Repheka] (Exodus 15:25, 26).

I have heard people say: “I have prayed those Scriptures, but why am I not healed?” “Why did my sister die? “We all prayed for my friend’s baby girl, and she still died!”

I can’t explain “why?” I just know we will have to wait until we are with God in heaven. Maybe then we will understand. However, many of our “Why?” questions can be answered here on earth now, if we consider how we are living our lives, and compare our disciplines with God’s Word, and learn more of how He expects us to live our lives. We read His benefits, but tend to neglect His conditions. It’s not too late for us to change!

This I do know, our Healer; Jehovah-Repheka, loves us and wants us to be healthy, and healed of all our diseases (Psalm 103:3). He who; “Redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies” (v. 4).

The truth is; the will of God is to heal us of all our illnesses, that He may be glorified in our healing. So keep your faith, keep praying…I am believing with you in your healing!

APPROVED

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). (2 Timothy 2:14-26) instructs those whom He knows are His ; and don’t we aspire to be recognized as such, to be approved by God? He tells us to avoid godless chatter (gossip), because we will become more and more ungodly. God warns that what we say can affect others, even destroying the faith of some. Heaven forbid we should say anything to do such damage!   Approved we flee the evil desires of youth we pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace. We don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments because we know they only produce quarrels. As God’s servants we mustn’t quarrel; instead we must be kind, able to teach, and be not resentful.   Approved we are to gently instruct those who oppose us, hoping God will grant them repentance and lead them to the knowledge of His truth. Over the past few years I have been inspired by the Holy Spirit to write what He has given me; many times I was awakened in the middle of the night to write them down. I hope you will take look at these brief messages which can be found in the "sidebar" of this blog under the heading of "BLOG ARCHIVE." There may be something in these that personally speaks to you. I pray there is. Thanks for reading my blog and may God richly bless you.

Walk Of Faith

I wonder, do you think we miss God’s purpose for our lives because we are waiting to learn more of what God has planned for us? Truth is; God isn’t required to lay it all out for us. All He must do if He has a plan for our lives is to show us how and then enable us to do it. It seems when we don’t know all the particulars, life is too perplexing. We think, “ but I need to know just what God wants me to do.” Abram (later known as Abraham) probably had thoughts just like this. God asked Abram to go somewhere he wasn’t familiar with and he most likely thought of asking God, Lord, must I go somewhere I don’t know, can’t I just stay here in Haran? However, God’s plan for Abram was far greater than anything Abram could ever imagine. Our personal feelings, vision, and human reasoning will always get in the way of our walk of faith . God teaches us to have faith in Him by placing us in positions where our feelings, vision, and common knowledge don’t work for us. Haven’t you ex...
