Aligning Our Thoughts With God's

This morning's post comes from a dream God gave me back in 2007. I record my dreams and visions, especially the ones I believe the LORD gives me. This particular dream illustrates how we need to align our thoughts for healing with those of God. I also believe God is causing this particular dream of mine to be revisited today - now! I hope His message blesses you today!

In my dream, God showed me three examples of how we can receive His healing. I think it is more than just coincidence that this dream comes after a very frustrating difficulty I’ve had over the past week trying to repair my tractor. My difficulty had to do with me trying to force an axle shaft back into alignment with some very important rear-wheel gears. As long as I tried to do it alone not asking for help no matter how hard I tried to force the shaft to go in I failed. I had tried for the past 3-4 days to make this repair. Without fixing the problem I wasn’t going anywhere with the tractor. When I finally gave up and asked my wife Sally to help me, the shaft slid into place amazingly easy without any effort!

The Three Examples God Gave Me:

First example: You try to open a combination lock; you twist the knob with the numbers on it back and forth pulling on the lock. You desperately want to open this lock, but it won’t open. When you ask for the correct numbers combination and slowing turn to align the tumblers of the lock amazingly this impossible lock opens!

Second example: You’re in a big hurry, you’re tired, you’re trying to open the front door of your home, its dark, you put your key in the lock and frantically try to unlock the door but, the key doesn’t seem to fit. It’s the right key but the lock won’t open. You slow down and carefully push the key in and all the little tumblers in the lock align and the door opens!

Third example: You and I are standing here and I am holding up a sheet of cardboard with a small hole in it, I show you I have a powerful flashlight which is turned on and you want to see the light shine through the hole in the cardboard. You can’t really see my flashlight because I am holding it behind my sheet of cardboard, but you tell me how to move my flashlight around so you can see my light. You tell me to move it to the left and down then to move it up and to the right. You can’t see the beam of my light because you’re not holding the source. When you stop and allow me to point my light through the hole toward you, you are temporarily blinded by my powerful light!

Antidote: When we stop trying to do-everything-for-ourselves, whether it be to accomplish some difficult task or to receive our healing, when we stop and pray asking God to help us we see much better results.

Over the past few years I have been inspired by the Holy Spirit to write what He has given me; many times I was awakened in the middle of the night to write them down. I hope you will take look at these brief messages which can be found in the "sidebar" of this blog under the heading of "BLOG ARCHIVE." There may be something in these that personally speaks to you. I pray there is. Thanks for reading my blog and may God richly bless you.

APPROVED

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). (2 Timothy 2:14-26) instructs those whom He knows are His ; and don’t we aspire to be recognized as such, to be approved by God? He tells us to avoid godless chatter (gossip), because we will become more and more ungodly. God warns that what we say can affect others, even destroying the faith of some. Heaven forbid we should say anything to do such damage!   Approved we flee the evil desires of youth we pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace. We don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments because we know they only produce quarrels. As God’s servants we mustn’t quarrel; instead we must be kind, able to teach, and be not resentful.   Approved we are to gently instruct those who oppose us, hoping God will grant them repentance and lead them to the knowledge of His truth. God’s Family

He provides resources for the family “For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those whom call upon You” (Psalm 86:5). God’s plan for marriage and the family, in the Bible, is intended to be ideal, full of prosperity for every member. Would you say this describes your family? Maybe, maybe not, however, even if your family has missed His mark His Word deals with life realistically. Many of us experience some aspect of failure or serious disappointment with the way our family is living. Many families today are divided by divorce or living as single-parent family units. God alone can provide the needed resources and the loving care vital for the needs of these families who are dealing with life. If you are having trouble in your family turn to Jesus. He is your primary resource for forgiveness and your hope for renewal (Ephesians 1:7).   He forgives no matter if the failure is yours or it is one of those times when someone else fails yo...
