God’s Ways

We will not always understand His prerogative

In (Isaiah 55:8) God says, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, and my ways are not your ways.” Therefore, we can’t always understand why God allows certain things to happen or why He heals some and not others. What we can know is He will use whatever our circumstances are in our lives to good for us (Romans 8:28.)

We have heard many times how the apostle Paul suffered an affliction which he prayed fervently for God to heal yet God didn’t remove that affliction. Maybe you have prayed similar prayers for your own healing or healing for someone else and didn’t see favorable results. Admittedly, it is tough to understand why God isn’t allowing our healing to happen after we have fervently prayed and exhibited faith. God is aware of our concerns, this I know and we must trust Him!

What God did in Paul’s life was; through His glorious will and ways He brought Paul’s life into focus when Christ revealed to him: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9.) Paul replied, “Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me” (verse 9).

Do you want God’s healing? Take stock of your life -- consider where you are now in your relationship with Him. Ask yourself if the choices you are making are in harmony with His will, and then pray for Him to show you any corrections He may want you to make. Ask Him to restore your health or your situation to that which is His divine will for you. Repent from any anger or bitterness you may have toward Him.

God can give you your peace, joy and release your anxiety when you depend on His Word and pray to Him. Pray continually for it is His desire that you do.

By His Authority

God has given His authority. God’s plan for authority has been given to His people: authority in the church (1 Peter 5:1-2) which says, “shepherd the flock of God which is among you;” authority in the home (Colossians 3:18-25,) “Wives submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord, as is fitting in the Lord;” authority in your workplace (Ephesians 6:5-9) “Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters…; and authority in civil government (Romans    13:1-7) “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God….” Authority as planned by God seems awkward and unfitting in today’s societies – not that His plan is inappropriate, certainly this is not true. It is more that people have deviated from God’s plan to what seems more suited to their personal lives for whatever reasons they justify. It is it any wonder we have dysfunctional families, government and na...

Apostates Predicted

Sensual persons who cause divisions   I quote from the Book of Jude, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, who was addressing those who were called , sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ. In verses 16 through 19, Jude warned of apostates who would come around and make themselves known. He described them as grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts , to use Jude’s own words. He went on to describe them as those who would be mouthing swelling words, flattering to gain advantage . Jude continued saying, “But you beloved, remember the words which were spoken before the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: how they told you there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. Fast-forward now to today; to our present time, the year 2012. How is this book (Jude) of very few words; the little book which precedes the last book of the Bible; Revelation relevant to our (contemporary...

Breaking The Silence

The house is quiet, the dogs are asleep, and my wife is gone for the morning running her errands. The lonely silence gives our home a feeling of emptiness that seems to cry for noise or activity of some kind. What do I do to fill this void? I could turn on the TV – not much on this time of day though. I know; I’ll put on a CD. How about a little "Stones.", ZZ Top or perhaps some Van Halen; all good driving music, but what makes us feel like we have to fill the silence of our homes with noise or some other distraction? Is it because we fear loneliness? We miss a tremendous opportunity to have an intimate relationship with God at times like I just mentioned if we choose earthly substitutes instead of a Spiritual involvement with our Creator. God created us to be involved with Him, to have a yearning for His awesome presence. No music, TV or hobby can truly fill the voids we feel when we are alone. Only He can satisfy our need. Yet, don’t we try to keep busy and fill the airwa...
